Dear all , contrary to recent social media comments of €14k miscellaneous unaccounted for in 2018 GBFC accounts we would like to state on record it is actually in fact €4686.85 These figures were and are available in our AGM final year accounts . This is the breakdown of this sum of moneys,
To whom it may concern,
Greenhills Boys FC would like to confirm the protest that was carried out on Sunday 8th September for the first home game of Bangor Greenhills Greenpark vs Cherry Orchard in Greenhills Park was arranged by parents and former members of our u12 school boy team . This led to the game been cancelled by match officials and Gardai and our new under 8’s were unable to have a display match at the half time interval . All our young players and parents were deeply upset not forgetting the strong crowd that turned up to support the teams .
To the surprise Bangor Greenhills Greenpark senior teams have played multiple times at home in Greenhills park this season but this group have just targeted the first team game on Sunday 8th . This group of protestors have now registered themselves as Greenhills Celtic playing out of Tymon Park on Saturday and Sunday’s . The club have notified the South Dublin County Council of this protest on Sunday 8th , cancellation of the game for senior players and new school boy team . South Dublin County Council have kindly informed the club it does not condone any protesting at matches on their pitches in public parks. They have drawn attention to conditions in 15 and 17 of Pitch Allocation conditions . The council will be making immediate contact with Greenhills Celtic in this regard.
Finally , the decision to amalgamate with another Dublin 12 football club in Bangor Celtic was made to ensure there is senior football for the schoolboy players coming through . Greenhills Greenpark amalgamation happened in 2010 and in continuation Bangor Greenhills Greenpark have amalgamated as 3 Dublin 12 clubs . This amalgamation has NO impact on the Greenhills Boys name , club or structure. Greenhills Boys was 52 years old this year and as long as we continue to receive the continued strong support from our community and generate new schoolboys team through our fantastic academy set up we be around for another 52 years . Our senior 3rd team this year is managed by 3 managers that managed a schoolboy side all the way through our schoolboy years and are now part of our senior set up, in keeping with the Greenhills connection 🥅⚽#gbfc #gbbfc..
Thank you again for ongoing support
Yours in sport
